Sarah Playford

Sarah Playford is a London based media composer and graduate from the Royal College of Music having obtained an MComp in Composition for Screen in 2018. Prior to her Masters, Sarah graduated with a BA in Music from the University of Bristol, gaining a First in her major of composition. 

In 2017 Sarah received an Honourable Mention Award from The International Indie Gathering Film Festival for her score to the Roman Citizen Trailer. Her first collaboration with director Jenny Jokela’s Barbeque was also selected in the summer of 2018 to be part of Channel 4's Random Acts series 5. 

In 2018, Sarah composed the music for RADA's production of Women Beware Women staged at the Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre in London. Her orchestral piece Space Chimp was selected by the Royal College of Music to be performed and recorded in the Amaryllis Flemming Concert Hall where she worked with composer and conductor Gavin Greenaway (Dunkirk, Hunger Games, TRON: Legacy) on the recording of the score.

Most recently Sarah has worked as orchestrator in collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra both as part of the ComposHER concert held at EartH Hackney earlier this year and as part of a recording session at Abbey Road Studios.

Works in progress include both a short dark comedy titled ‘The Last Jeff’ and directed by Ben Robins as well as music for a short Australian thriller.
